Advantage Learn offers a wide range of courses aimed at Gr 12 pupils. These are both subject specific for Maths (Core, Lit, and AP), and University readiness (NBT preparation). Courses take the form of both blended learning and purely online. Each online course includes teaching videos by subject experts, notes, practice examples and question and answer forums if you get stuck. Our online learning experience is top class and gets better all the time. Below is a brief outline of what is available to help.

Grade 12 Core Maths

There are a few courses that cater for Core Maths students. These are carefully designed to best assist students with their mathematics and augment their classroom learning.

• Grade 12 Calculus In-person course

• Grade 12 Online Maths Winter School
• Grade 12 Past Papers Course
• Grade 12 In-person Winter School: A four-day course held during the July holidays to help learners both catch up with/get a better grounding in work they have been doing as well as keep their maths fresh over the break so they can keep momentum into the final terms of Matric.
• Grade 12 Revision Sessions: A series of 10 sessions held from the end of July to the beginning of September to help learners prepare for trials.

Grade 12 AP Maths

A good Matric Result in AP Maths speaks volumes about the character of the learner and their dedication to their studies. AP maths is where Advantage Learn first found their feet – and as such their courses are top quality and rigorously examined and revised. Advantage Learn teach AP maths as a subject at their various learning centers. They use the latest in blended learning combined with years of experience in educator Trish Pike to provide a dynamic and engaging learning experience.

Gr 12 Maths Lit

Advantage Learn knows maths, so accordingly they cater for all streams. Their Maths Literacy course covers the skills expected of those studying maths lit and guides them to success.

National Benchmark Test (NBT) Preparation

Advantage Learn don’t simply care about getting their students to their desired Matric Results. They find joy in seeing them succeed and make their dreams come true. As such AL.com has pioneered an NBT preparation course to help students best prepare to take the National Benchmark Test to get their coveted spot at a tertiary institution. An entire page of their site is dedicated to guiding learners through how best to book, prepare and write the NBTs. Advantage Learn runs in-person NBT courses for schools and individuals across the country. These courses run from April to August and all information will be on the information page. While courses may make up the bulk of Advantage Learn’s focus, the aim is to support students in any way possible. Thus there are many resources available on the AL.com site. Some are permanent and some are temporary for the appropriate time of the academic year.

• One of the most useful resources to a Matric learner is an NBT Preparation – Test Yourself quiz. This quiz allows you to answer some mock NBT style questions put together by Trish Pike. This can serve as a reality check to those who think that your usual schooling prepares you for the NBTs. It also helps to let you know where you are at, and how much prep, if any, you will need to do.
• The Past Papers Resource Page provides learners with the opportunity to download all past papers. Practice is the name of the game for successful Matric results. As such, providing this resource means preparing AL.com learners as best as possible.
• In the internet age, blogs are a way that we get ‘on the ground’ discussions about many topics. As such, AL.com’s blog aims to produce posts that discuss and reflect on many topics relevant to high school (and sometimes university learners) and their parents. Last but not least, coming in 2017. Advantage Learn is launching subscription learning maths.
